where's the bike lane? all I saw was riding on a sharrow which heavily misunderstood and has the markings in the doorzone, and riding on the shoulder gutter where all the debris ends up. I did not see a single bike lane...

So u started from the city of Hidalgo Texas on South 23 Street . Wow it changed so much I remember growing up only 1 way road in and out on this street and in the middle of Hidalgo The Texas stable's where located for the whole city they sold chicken feed there and many other products for your stock also might I add the railroad ran through it and a couple of houses as the years passed by back in the 1990's this people where forced to leave their homes . Sad but true Hidalgo got so much history that the city won't say

Yup, very familiar with that portion of the route. ;-) It's an old track (built by UP?) that used an outdated "Staggered" track-joint method. Throughout most world, - if/when using jointed track - the joints are located parallelly to each other, and repeating in a fixed distance; that's how it's done to prevent the train rocking from side to side, and for a smoother (and safer!) ride. The freight companies, on the other hand, used the old-fashioned "Staggered" (a.k.a. "brick-placement") method - causing trains to rock from side to side and giving a very rough ride. 2 Reply

Were the tracks so bad back then that their max speed was that slow?

It's a good start. Might I suggest slowing down your camera when panning from one thing to another. Your shots move on way to quickly for good cinemotography.

What a wonderful stunsails they are. I will certainly have my ship modified with them. To have speed of the wind, even more in the quite and breeze weather at the river, sea, or Ocean.

Forgot to say it didn’t look as good a shape as when you saw it.Lot of peeling paint inside, harsh Green Bay winters taking their toll.

I remember back in the 90s that automobile deck was still mostly intact. There was just one small section missing on the Illinois side. Thanks for the ride through history.
